The Faculty of Education’s Centre for Adult Education and Community Outreach (CAECO) specializes in the scholarship and practice of Adult Education and offers the opportunity to advance your professional knowledge and skills in adult teaching and learning environments. The Department is recognised as a leader in bringing third level education outside the confines of the campus and engaging with wider society through its many outreach programmes and the establishment of the University’s campus at Kilkenny in 1997. Alumni job titles indicate the variety of adult education career opportunities in both the private and public sectors. Each year our centre graduates an average of seventy-five happy adults who achieve their high school diplomas. Our mission is to develop well-educated citizens who embrace education as a lifelong experience.
This practitioner-oriented master’s degree prepares individuals interested in working with adult learners in a variety of fields, including but not limited to continuing professional education, corporate training and development, postsecondary education, government, non-profit organizations, human services, the military, and adult basic education.
Adult Basic Education and Literacy Option: Coursework is focused on teaching and research in ABE and literacy with electives in distance education, administration, and theory. The Fort Smith Adult Education Center offers a wide range of classes that are available to any adult over the age of 18 who is a resident of the area. As practitioners, their real-world experience influenced their approach to skill training and educational program planning.
Quality: improving quality assurance, including monitoring and impact assessment, improving initial and continuing education of adult educators, and collecting the necessary data on needs to effectively target and design provision. High School Credits – You can acquire high school credits or upgrade existing marks to meet the admission requirements of post-secondary institutions, or to complete requirements for the PEI High School Graduation Certificate for Mature Students. MSE Adult Education Weekend Program requires students to purchase their own books prior to the start of class. AEFLA requires that an additional four-year state plan be developed, approved by the Kansas Board of Regents, and submitted to the U. S. Department of Education.
Maine Adult Education partners with the Maine Adult Education Association , a professional organization that advocates for adult education locally, statewide and nationally, and supports its members in order to meet the educational needs of Maine’s adults.
