In schools health educators teach health as a subject and promote and implement Coordinated School Health Programs, including health services, student, staff and parent health education, and promote healthy school environments and school-community partnerships.

The curriculum is designed to prepare the MPH Student to participate in the formulation of policy; assess and define health and educational needs of target populations through diagnostic and consultation skills; develop and successfully implement theory based health programs; design and conduct program evaluations; and design and conduct research.

The health educator collects and analyzes data to identify community needs as well as plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate health education programs that focus on individual and social health issues such as teen pregnancy, HIV prevention, and controlling the spread of infectious diseases.

Students are introduced to the principles of program development and evaluation in public health. In this course, you will be introduced to the practical applications of descriptive and inferential statistics for the health industry. This course acquaints students with the components and essential design elements of comprehensive health education programming. When planning and conducting research or evaluation, health educators do so in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations, organizational and institutional policies, and professional standards.health educationhealth education
